The intrepid traveller Phileas Fogg from Jules Verne’s classic novel Around the World in 80 Days now provides the name for CCN-Cerri Cantieri Navali’s new line of 35-metre Expedition Yachts.
Designed by Andrea Vallicelli and built from steel and aluminium with a hull shape crafted the yard’s own technical office, the Phileas vessels have strikingly simple lines, are sublimely modular and versatile. The latter attribute comes thanks to a highly linear deck plan and vertical sides. The interiors can encompass 3, 4 or 5 variously-distributed cabins also. Large windows draw light in and create a sense of constant contact with the sea too. Last but not least, they have a range of 4,000 miles at 12 knots (max. speed is 14) and can be Ice Class classified and have a hybrid propulsion system installed.
