Monaco Yacht Show Preview

From September 25 to 28, Monte-Carlo will host the Monaco Yacht Show. More than 125 incredible superyachts will be on display together with many luxury tenders. Most of them are world première. Here are some of them strictly in alphabetical order, together with some other interesting new entries

Abeking&Rasmussen – Excellence
Excellence smashes the mould and promises to turn as many heads in 20 years’ time as she does today.

@TomVanOossanen

With her striking bow and her visionary, industry disrupting layout, Excellence brings forward a new era for superyacht design. Her exterior lines draw the eye up to the bridge and owner’s decks which are surrounded on all sides by curved floor-to-ceiling mirrored glass.

@TomVanOossanen

Providing the perfect opportunity for indulgent relaxation, she features a swimming pool and platform, as well as jacuzzi and sprawling beach club and impressive limousine tenders.

Alia Samurai
With exterior styling by Omega Architects, naval architecture by van Oossanen and interior design by Redman Whiteley Dixon (RWD), Samurai (60,20 metre) combines top northern European design with Alia’s proven yachtbuilding capability.

@Jeff-Brown

The low-rise exterior profile with its bold vertical windows, elegantly arched superstructure and long aft overhangs exudes power and grace. But her sleek lines disguise a high-volume interior of 1050GT, most of which is housed inside the hull.

@Jeff-Brown

Besides the engine room, the lower deck is dedicated to a spacious beach club and gym with fold-down transom door and side platform, a tender garage with room for two custom tenders of up to 7m, the crew quarters, crew dinette and pro-spec gallery.

@Jeff-Brown

The main deck provides accommodation for 10 in four guest cabins and a full-beam, forward-facing owner’s suite. The staterooms, open-plan main salon and dining room benefit from natural light and sea views thanks to the full height windows. A stairway on the aft deck provides direct exterior access to the beach club below.

Amels – Aurora Borealis
Aurora Borealis is the first Amels 220 – a timeless design by Tim Heywood, capturing the very best of the British designer’s much-loved exterior signature. Winch Design created a custom interior design for the Owner.

Alongside seven suites, plus large indoor and outdoor socialising areas, totalling 1,150 square metres (12,300 sq ft), the AMELS 220 offers amenities for celebrations and hosting special guests with 7-star service.

Arcadia Yachts – Sherpa XL
At the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show, Arcadia Yachts will display the new Sherpa XL. Successor of Sherpa, XL is another step in the growth process of the shipyard philosophy, giving life to a new line of yachts next to the historical A line.

The concept of the Sherpa XL, developed with the Milan-based Hot Lab design studio develops around the arrangement of the decks. The bow decks are staggered, so there is one central staircase with reduced height differences. This unusual layout has permitted to achieve large spaces in a limited height, arranging volumes in unusual ways.

The direct relationship with the sea is enhanced in the cockpit, which is connected to the stern platform by a short set of scenic steps. These steps create an interlocking pattern between the narrow topside and the low volume that supports the sundeck. This large space, nearly 65 square metres in size, is unencumbered and can be enjoyed at any time of the day.

Azimut Grande S10
Rather than being a mere evolution of the S series, the Grande S10 is really a standalone model. The arrival of Alberto Mancini to do the exterior design brought a welcome burst of energy with the result that it is essentially new. Admired for his purist approach, Mancini likes to take his inspiration from the aeronautical and car design worlds, being particularly familiar through his work with the latter.

He explained the philosophy behind this boat as follows: “I took my inspiration f from three sources: a beachhouse in Malibu with large terraces leading down to the shore; a megasailer that inspired the split-level cockpit, and the car world because car design is always hugely inspiring”.

The yacht’s Francesco Guida interiors remain top secret but the eclectic Neapolitan engineer did let one hint slip: “They are designed as the evolution of a stylistic direction that started with the S7 and S6, and so they very meticulously mix metal, lacquer and leather finishes with classic wood given original treatments. There is generous master stateroom with a central bed, corner bar, dressing area and bathroom” he finishes.

Baglietto 55 T-line Severin*s
The new 55-meter hull is part of Baglietto’s traditional platform (the T-Line) designed by Francesco Paszkowski Design. The vessel’s soft and sleek lines reflect Baglietto’s traditional Italian style and, together with the lowered gunwales and side air vents, will embody the Seagull brand’s distinct aesthetic features. Francesco Paszkowski designed the warm and cozy interior in collaboration with architect Margherita Casprini.

The layout is set up perfectly for charter with a total of six cabins, The main deck is dedicated to the Family. It has a vast master suite with a central bed, a secluded office, and a walk-in closet. The central lobby hosts a panoramic lift in marble which connects the three decks. The sun deck, a Baglietto trademark, is astonishing: 150 square meters of al fresco space. The placement of the tender and toys in the foredeck allows more space to be dedicated to the Beach Club, which offers a gym and spa. The yacht is certified with the maximum class by Lloyd’s Register of Shipping and has received two Caterpillar engines 3516C DITA, which push her at a maximum speed of 17 knots and cruising speed of 12 knots.

Baltic Liara
Commissioned as a world girdling performance cruising yacht, this all-carbon sloop is also equipped to be a threat on the racecourse .
Designed primarily as a fast, easy to use, family cruising yacht, the Baltic 112’s experienced owner clearly has more than an eye on the racecourse. He’s employed in-vogue naval architect Malcolm McKeon to give the yacht the edge it needs.

Award-winning interior specialist Adam Lay has produced a stunning limed oak accommodation finish to give this exciting cruiser/racer a stylish touch of luxury below.

Benetti – Metis
Is a 63-metre-long custom yacht boasting a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure stretching over 5 decks, with a maximum beam of 10.6 metres, a draught of 3.1 metres and a gross tonnage of 1,245 tons, will hit the Monegasque territorial waters in the next days.

@Jeff Brown

The exteriors are the work of Giorgio M. Cassetta, the interiors and the structure were designed by Bannenberg&Rowell, who worked in partnership with Birgit Otte on the décor. Stunning is the gym on the Fly Deck that is fitted with sliding bow and stern doors and tinted side windows that provide complete privacy and an unbeatable sea view. Shaded by the Fly Deck, the Bridge Deck houses the pilothouse and the captain’s cabin. The outdoor areas, complete with dining area and recreational area, are designed to enjoy the outdoors at all hours of the day. The Upper Deck features a charming lounge area with grand piano and bar corner.

Benetti – Big Five
Big Five is the fifth watercraft of Mediterraneo 116. The exteriors of this 35.5-metre displacement yacht boasting a fibreglass hull and carbon fibre superstructure were designed by designer Giorgio M. Cassetta, while the interiors were designed by Benetti’s Interior Style Department.

The layout of the yacht, designed to accommodate 12 guests and 7 crew members, was tailored to the needs of the owner who suggested the use of light opaque woods combined with greyscale and dark ash woods that add a sophisticated and elegant feel. While, marbles such as Zebrino Apuano and Olimpico Striato add a touch of modernity.

Benetti – Eurus
The third yacht that will be on show is the Dolphin 95 “Eurus”, boasting a fibreglass displacement hull and a carbon fibre superstructure. At first glance, the elegant and luxury interiors are immediately striking and blend well with its streamlined design by Giorgio M. Cassetta. This 29-metre-long boat is laid out on four decks and features 5 cabins that can accommodate 10 people.

The colours chosen for the interiors, echoing subtle shades of pink, green and blue, create a relaxing atmosphere in the rooms, which is perfect for a boat designed for families. Particularly noteworthy are the stylish chrome finishes and the wooden floors, installed alternating light and dark oak. Zebrino and Limestone marble floors in the bathrooms adorn the owner’s and the guest cabins.

Besenzoni
Key products that will feature at the Monaco Yacht Show will be the SP 600 rotating ladder and the P 338 Infinity Elegance helm seat.
SP600 Rotating Ladder
The new SP 600 G is an automatic rotating ladder which doubles up as a gangway. Suitable for stern or side installation, the SP 600 has a stainless steel structure which is available in either polished or powder coated stainless steel.

The self levelling steps in teak ensure they are easy to use and the double row of manual removable stanchions makes the ladder easy for stowage. Extremely easy to use also thanks to the control panel which can be operated remotely from the cockpit as well as the electro hydraulic control unit.

The automatic P 338 Infinity Elegance helm seat
This set has a simple and elegant shapes are perfectly suited for the stylish solutions adopted on the various crafts thanks to an almost total degree of personalisation and customisation. The ergonomic seat, the angle of the seat back and the adjustable footrest promises the maximum comfort even on long trips.

The P338 can be supplied with either an electric or manual support seat and comes in standard vinyl fabric upholstery or genuine leather. Alternatively, the chair can be personalised using the customer’s own choice of fabric.

Bluegame BGX70
BGX70 is the result of the collaboration between Luca Santella and Marina and Bernardo Zuccon.

BGX70 was built with a fibreglass hull, while the interiors were built with materials that would accentuate its bond with the sea, thus the designers opted for the most natural fabrics, leathers and woods. Colours and shades were chosen to add a feel of balance and harmony free of strong contrasts, creating a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Shades of wood and white were chosen in order to accentuate the maritime character of the entire project.

A key aspect of the design of this model was the ability to build the entire lounge on two different levels connected by an internal staircase: this allowed us to create two different living areas. Two other important features are, on the one hand, the deep connection between indoor and outdoor areas, which are connected through a set of sliding doors and, on the other hand, the great flexibility.

CCN Vanadis
Vanadis is the fourth yacht in CCN’s Fuoriserie family. It’s a 31 m fully-custom aluminum yacht and is the first Italian motor yacht to obtain the Lloyd’s Register’s “Hybrid Power” certification.

The craft is fitted with a set of AKASOL lithium-ion batteries (175 kWh) supplying most onboard utilities and allowing to remain at anchor at zero emissions for up to 17 consecutive hours and to cruise at limited speed for up to 120 minutes, depending on the power load.

The layout includes a master cabin and two guest cabins on the lower deck, while the indoor areas of the main deck, behind the wheelhouse, feature a spacious salon, a dining area, and an open galley.

Both the interior layout and interior styling have been fully customized to the specific needs and wishes of the owner. This has resulted in a highly functional, comfortable, discrete and tasteful design. The general style can be described as a modern interpretation of a “Jugendstile Interior” thanks also to the use of wood such as bleached oak and walnut.
