Now Ulysse Nardin pays homage to the most important date on the nautical calendar with a Limited Edition Diver Chronograph Monaco. Clothed in elegant red and blue, colours it shares with previous iterations of the Monaco, the Diver Chronograph commemorates the event with a minutes counter sporting the Principality of Monaco heraldic motif which is also featured on the watch’s sapphire caseback. The blue dial features the Monaco Yacht Show 2016 inscription while the indices and hands are in the colours of the Monaco flag. Ulysse Nardin’s deep-rooted connection with the sea is alluded to in every aspect of this collector’s timepiece of which just 100 steel versions will be made. The Diver Chronograph Monaco is powered by an automatic movement: the manufacture Calibre UN-150 with silicon escapement. A central second hand, the small seconds window at 9 o’clock, a 30-minute counter at 3 and a 12-hour counter and date window at 6 offer a comprehensive chronograph time-at-a-glance. The watch’s diver DNA is also alluded to in its 44mm oversize case and unidirectional rotating bezel, an extra safety feature to prevent accidental dive time changes. The outer edge of the rotating bezel is fluted in which feels like an echo of wave motif etched into the rubber set in the steel of the main bezel. The rubber trim on the safety crown makes for an excellent grip and guarantees exceptional water resistance to 300 metres. This together with the other features makes the Limited Edition an authentic diver’s watch.
