Feadship Project 3073

Presented in the third episode of the Feadship Unveils YouTube series of unbuilt designs, Project 3073 is described as “an incredibly fast Feadship”.

The owner she was designed for had already owned two Mangustas and asked the Dutch yard to give him a boat that would be fast, elegant and powered by water jets for a speed of at least 20 or 30 knots, a big ask for a 65m. But that wasn’t the end of the story.

The owner was also a huge Jaguar E-Type fan and wanted the exterior lines to mirror those of the car. The result, it has to be said, is spectacular. The exterior design has a sleekly futuristic allure. The forward section on the two and a half deck yacht’s upper deck is inspired by the E-Type bonnet and is completely clear and focused on the pool. Thanks to its glass bottom, the latter allows light into the master suite below and its study.

The wheelhouse on the upper deck opens into the interior and connects to the main via two strikingly imposing staircases. Aside from the aforementioned master suite on the main deck, there are three double guest cabins amidships on the lower deck where the crew quarters are also located. In the video, Feadship CEO Henk de Vries and chief designer Tanno Weeda also take the option of a full-electric power set-up into consideration and this would yield a maximum speed of 20 knots.
