A 55’ from Hoek Design and Metur Yacht

Microsoft Word - 20151113 Press release 55ft Pilot ClassicPenned by Hoek Design and built by the Dutch studio’s long-term collaborator, Metur Yacht of Bodrum, the new 55’ Pilot Classic is scheduled to splash in summer 2016.

The project is a development of the 66’ Pilot Classic Mazu, which launched in 2014 to instant acclaim. Built to the very latest CE / ISO standards, the 55’ Pilot Classic is a mix of high-tech composites and carbon-fibre reinforcements. The hull has a sleekly elegant profile and refined waterlines which guarantee very impressive performance levels. The flush deck is topped by a generously-glazed, retro-style coachroof enclosing the saloon and dining area.

The sail plan has been optimised to allow the 55’ Pilot Class be sailed safely and easily by just two people, while the design and styling of the interiors is New England-influenced with white panelling accented by teak detailing.

The en suite owner’s cabin is forward followed by a large saloon with dining area amidships and a galley to port. Next come the chart area and the cabin bathrooms with, last but very far from least, two double cabins aft. The model exudes Hoek Design’s signature styling. Metur Yacht, of course, has an excellent track record too with a string of high-profile craft in its portfolio, not least the 65’ Mozaiek, the 51’ Alexa and the 73’ fast motoryacht Seven.
